NYT Sudoku on nyt-sudoku.net is built for immediate play: open the board, choose Daily or Unlimited, and start filling a standard 9x9 Sudoku grid. The site is unofficial and independently generated; it does not use official New York Times puzzle boards, screenshots, or puzzle data.
The goal is the classic Sudoku goal. Fill every empty cell so each row, each column, and each 3x3 box contains the digits 1 through 9 exactly once. Given cells are fixed. Editable cells can hold a final digit, notes, or be erased as you solve.
Start Playing
- Choose a mode. Daily gives one Easy, one Medium, and one Hard puzzle for the date. Unlimited creates more generated boards for practice.
- Pick a difficulty. Easy is best for warmups, Medium adds tighter candidate work, and Hard expects more careful notes.
- Select a cell and enter a digit. Use the on-screen keypad or keyboard input where available.
- Use notes before guessing. Pencil marks help you track candidates when a cell could still hold several digits.
- Finish by validation, not speed. A puzzle is complete when all rows, columns, and boxes are valid.
Daily and Unlimited
Daily mode is a compact habit: three generated puzzles per date, one each at Easy, Medium, and Hard. It gives returning players a simple routine without needing a large archive at launch.
Unlimited mode is practice. Use it when you want another board at the same difficulty, when you want to drill notes, or when the daily puzzle is already done.
